Contact form: When you use the contact form, first name, last name, email address, phone number, subject and message are collected and sent by email to office@schachburg.at. The data is used solely to process your enquiry and is deleted afterwards. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Newsletter sign-up: When you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is collected and stored on the server. Sign-up uses the double opt-in procedure: you receive a confirmation email and must confirm your sign-up via a link. An internal copy of this confirmation email goes to dame@schachburg.at for co-administration. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Tournament registration: When you register for the tournament, first name, last name, email address, phone number, player IDs (FIDE ID, ÖSB ID, AUT player ID, GER ID, ITA ID, UKR ID or national ID), optionally ratings (Elo, DWZ), club, year of birth and a note are collected and sent to turnier@schachburg.at. The data is used solely to handle participation in the tournament. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures).

Ride-sharing board: Entries on the ride-sharing board contain name, place of departure, departure time and WhatsApp/phone number. This data is displayed publicly on the website and stored in a file on the server. By posting an entry you agree to the public display of your details. Entries can be deleted at any time using your personal PIN. Entries are removed from the public view after the respective tournament date at the latest. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Visitor counter: When a page is loaded, date, time and IP address are stored in a monthly log file on the server. Bots are excluded based on the user agent. The logs serve solely for internal usage statistics and are not passed on to third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in analysing website use).

Storage period: All personal data is deleted completely after the end of the respective tournament.

WhatsApp group link: This website contains a link to the WhatsApp group of the Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs. When you click this link you leave our website. WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) may process your IP address and device data. We have no influence on this data processing. No data is transmitted as long as you do not click on it. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in club communication).

Local storage (pop-up notice): So that an announcement pop-up does not appear again on every page view, your browser's local storage (localStorage) records that you have already seen it. No personal data is collected or transmitted in the process.

Language selection: If you choose a language, your browser stores this in a cookie called “lang” (duration one year) so that the website appears in this language on your next visit. No personal data is collected.

No tracking, no advertising or analytics cookies.
